The festival of Mandarins to be opened in Bodrum

The Mandarin Festival  held by the Municipality of Bitez -Bodrum  begins on Friday, January 13.

All the necessary preparations for the 6th Mandarin festival have been completed and within few days it will welcome all the visitors.

“Mandarins hold an important place in our life. We all place a very high revenue growing mandarins. And it is not only our income; it is the part of our culture especially in this region. That is why the aim of this festival is to attract more attention to this agricultural fruit and its history” said the Mayor of Bitez, Mr. Comez.

The program of the festival includes several activities such as outdoor competitions, lectures about the traditional methods of growing mandarins, the ways of transportations, the history of mandarins in Bodrum, etc. All the mandarins will be distributed to the people free of charge.
