Home» Property News» British Holiday Home Buyers on the rise in Turkey

Its now been confirmed beyond as shadow of a doubt that British buyers are flocking to Turkey to buy a holiday home as they once did in Spain. The latest data from the Turkish General Directorate of Land Registry has confirmed that over 63 million square meters of Turkish property is now owned by foreign nationals and British buyers are the largest majority with 6 million square meters, with Germans coming in second place at 3.5 square meters.

German’s make up the largest market in terms of Tourism numbers, however the British have always had a higher tourist/property buyer ratio which is proved once again with their buying patterns in Turkey.

The credit crunch has actually boosted the Turkish property market with British buyers. For holiday makers,  when the euro went soaring against Sterling it made holidays to Spain and the other Eurozone favourites more than 25% more expensive to Brits. British tourists sought out holidays outside of the Eurozone and Turkey became top pick for most families. All it takes though is one trip to Turkey and as most people will attest to,  once you have been to Turkey you’ll alway want to come back.

For British property buyers, as the sterling starts to gain ground now  against the weakening Euro, the buying power of the Brits is getting stronger. Turkey has a wide choice of properties along its vast mediterranean coastline and  its known for being a far cheaper option then most other  European destinations. With rental returns on the up and up, as Turkey reaches record breaking tourism numbers, there’s no surprise that buyers are opting to invest in Turkey.

Turkey has already been enjoying a boom in foreign sales with buyers coming in from a host of European countries including Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Finland, Sweden and more. Demand for property in Turkey has remained steady and there are still opportunities to buy holiday homes close to the Beach.

Whether you want a quite retreat or a bustling town, Turkey has a host of options for property buyers – contact our sales team at Novrealty and tell us what you’re looking for at info@novrealty.com and we’ll get you to the finish line of your property search.
